Finally for the first time in my life I have managed to get the time to do a blog! For a change my holiday here at Carvoeiro has been less hectic - for the last 10 years or so we have been having at times 6 holidays a year, all of them have been fast paced. There never seemed to be time to just sit down and be with myself i.e 'killing time' as how some would put it. If I wasn't doing anything in those holidays, I then normally did online funding bids for charities (as there is always a need for such work on an unpaid basis) or watched movies or visited online networking sites - even online shopping at times! I have now realised that sometimes I need to do nothing that creates 'value' in Marxian terms and just chill out! Time spent doing nothing (I do mean occasionally!!) should not be viewed as a 'commodity' wasted. I am here vaguely reminded of a book I read some 20 years ago, where time is 'stolen' by a group of criminals - they steal and sell time....
